ABOUT LIFTLOCK BANDS
We are a group of older, experienced players who meet once a week to rehearse and socialize.
Many of us have been playing our whole lives. Some have not played since high school but have decided to pick up their instrument(s) again now that they have the time. LIFTLOCK ENCORE BAND is a concert band playing music in a variety of genres including film, musical theatre, classics, Latin, even some swing and rock and roll. We meet on Wednesday mornings at Bridgenorth United Church.
LIFTLOCK SWING BAND plays all the standards from the Big Band era including favourities from Glen Miller, Fats Waller, Henry Mancini, John Lennon and many others. We meet on Tuesday mornings at Long & McQuade. Both bands are conducted by PAUL VAN DER BANK, retired music educator, current trombonist with several Jazz/Swing bands and local orchestras. Paul is a respected musician and conductor with years of musical knowledge which he continues to share with both bands.
We perform TWO CONCERTS A YEAR in late November and late May.
LiftLock Bands
If you play a brass, woodwind, or percussion instrument, come and join us. Bring your instrument and a music stand. It’s good for the brain, your physical health and your soul. Oh, and it’s a lot of fun!
